To foster energy sourcing, availability of quality human resources and render electrical engineering as an attractive option (in India) with a bright future, IEEMA as part of this expo is introducing for the first time in India a concept called 'Engineer Infinite'. This unique initiative is aimed at exploring the infinite opportunities of growth available with the mechanical, electronic, instrumentation and electrical engineering community besides the related academicians.

This pioneering concept under the ELECRAMA banner promotes the objective of student participants requiring to build and demonstrate a working model in any Project Area specified by IEEMA, covering one Technology area and one Result area. The technology area of the project submission covers the spectrum of electricity generation and transmission, switchgear, protection and control, automation in power engineering.

The initiative was an unqualified success with over 428 entries from 198 institutions from 22 states of India which included 15 entries from IITs and 25 entries from NITs. This initiative marks a milestone of IEEMA's endeavor to engage with the future electrical professional community, and promoting 'electrotech' engineering as a career of choice and bring them into closer interaction with the industry. This initiative has elicited keen interest amongst venture capitalists who are keen to incubate, develop and support this and convert these concepts into commercially viable models. IEEMA hopes to give a stellar platform for deserving innovators amongst the international community which will be visiting ELECRAMA 2010.
